Cold Plunge, Sauna, Or Nap? What Actually Recovers You

Ask ten people how they recover and you'll get ten gadgets. The truth is duller and cheaper than the internet wants it to be.
Sleep does the heavy lifting
Nothing else is close. Muscle repair, hormone balance, and the nervous-system reset that lets you train hard again all happen while you're asleep. A consistent seven to nine hours beats every cold tub on the market.
A twenty-minute nap on a hard training day is genuinely useful. It's not lazy, it's programming.
Cold and heat: mood, mostly
A cold plunge feels incredible and sharpens you up. A sauna feels great and helps you wind down. Both are fine. Just know the main effect is how you feel, not a big jump in muscle repair.
One caveat: don't ice straight after a heavy lifting session if your goal is muscle growth. Cold right after training can blunt the very adaptation you trained for. Save it for rest days.
The boring winners
Walk on your off days. Drink water. Eat enough protein. Take a full rest day every week and actually rest on it. Do these and you'll out-recover anyone chasing the latest device.
